Have you ever seen equipment of forestry, carpentry tools and devices used in land-surveying and cartography, produced at the turn of the 19th–20th centuries? You may see them all at the Collection of Forestry. The collection includes a number of curiosities, which are of great interest for every visitor: pieces of fossilized wood millions of years old, a map from 1656, documents and modelling boards from the end of the 19th century, insectaria from 1870, wooden tools and household equipment from the last century, and models of machines.

Besides the permanent exhibition, there are miscellaneous temporary exhibitions as well. The palace of the Esterházy family, which hosts the exhibition, was the scene of a notable event in 1921. This was the place where the representatives of the Triple Entente established the final result of the referendum held in Sopron, which resulted in Sopron staying a part of Hungary
